**5 Or have ye not read in the law, how that on the sabbath days the priests in the temple profane the sabbath, and are blameless?
.
Jesus is the bread
Jesus is the sin offering
Jesus is the Word
The Word is our meat
.
Jesus is the bread ----John 6:33 For the bread of God is he which cometh down from heaven, and giveth life unto the world.
.
Jesus is the sin offering-----John 1:29 The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.
.
Jesus is the Word----John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.....14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
.
The Word is our meat ----Heb 5:12 For when for the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need that one teach you again which be the first principles of the oracles of God; and are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat. 13 For every one that useth milk is unskilful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe. 14 But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.
.
Matthew 12
1 At that time Jesus went on the sabbath day through the corn; and his disciples were an hungred, and began to pluck the ears of corn, and to eat.
2 But when the Pharisees saw it, they said unto him, Behold, thy disciples do that which is not lawful to do upon the sabbath day.
3 But he said unto them, Have ye not read what David did, when he was an hungred, and they that were with him;
4 How he entered into the house of God, and did eat the shewbread, which was not lawful for him to eat, neither for them which were with him, but only for the priests?
5 Or have ye not read in the law, how that on the sabbath days the priests in the temple profane the sabbath, and are blameless?
6 But I say unto you, That in this place is one greater than the temple.
7 But if ye had known what this meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice, ye would not have condemned the guiltless.
8 For the Son of man is Lord even of the sabbath day.
.
**5 Or have ye not read in the law, how that on the sabbath days the priests in the temple profane the sabbath, and are blameless?
.
WE ARE HIS PRIESTS NOW - We have the Lord as our Portion, no longer serving under a shadow of the thing to come. Jesus has already come!
.
Rev 1
5 And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood,
6 And hath made us kings and priests unto God and his Father; to him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.

Heb 4
2For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it......His Word does not profit without FAITH
.
3 For we which have believed do enter into rest, as he said, As I have sworn in my wrath, if they shall enter into my rest: although the works were finished from the foundation of the world...........there are no works we can do that HE has not already appointed and accomplished
.
4 For he spake in a certain place of the seventh day on this wise, And God did rest the seventh day from all his works.
5 And in this place again, If they shall enter into my rest......GOD's Rest is a 'completion' of His Work......6 Seeing therefore it remaineth that some must enter therein, and they to whom it was first preached entered not in because of unbelief:...........if we enter IN to Jesus by FAITH, It is Finished
.
7 Again, he limiteth a certain day, saying in David, To day, after so long a time; as it is said, To day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts.
8 For if Jesus had given them rest, then would he not afterward have spoken of another day................what day is that? Read further......
9 There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God..........we will enter 'fully' into His Rest when Jesus comes to claim them that are His. Thus a rest 'to come' remains for us who are 'at rest' in Him now.
.
10 For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his.
11 Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief.
.
you enter His Rest by FAITH.......we cease from our OWN work to enter His work (which is already finished).......many are trying to enter His Rest by works, not by Faith......we are His Priests and Kings by Faith just as Abraham was reckoned Righteous before the law/commandments were ever given.........by FAITH
.
Gal 3
23 But before faith came, we were kept under the law, shut up unto the faith which should afterwards be revealed.
24 Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith.
25 But after that faith is come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster.
26 For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.
------------------------------------------
Do we really think we, in our own strength, we can fulfill the law? even one law? 10 As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one: 11 There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God. Romans 3
.
10 For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all. James 2
.
11 But that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God, it is evident: for, The just shall live by faith. 12 And the law is not of faith: but, The man that doeth them shall live in them. 13 Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree: Gal 3
